How to convert JPG to PNG
Add your JPG or JPEG files
Add your JPG or JPEG images from your device or drop them into the zone. Each file is checked before it is added.
Check the preview
The tool shows the original image and the converted PNG, with the original dimensions and the real size of both files.
Download
Each PNG can be downloaded on its own or grouped in a ZIP archive. One failed file does not block the others.
What the conversion does, and what it does not
PNG adds no loss to the pixels the JPG already had — nothing more.
A real PNG, with no quality setting
The output is a lossless PNG. That is why there is no quality slider: offering one would suggest a setting that never applies.
No detail restored
Converting JPG to PNG does not add detail, does not remove the compression artefacts already present, and does not make the image transparent. PNG locks in the decoded pixels: it prevents new loss, it does not undo the old one.
Size and dimensions
Original dimensions are kept. A PNG can be considerably larger than the source JPG, especially for a photograph; the interface shows the real size and flags a larger file.
Orientation
EXIF orientation is applied while decoding when the browser supports it; the dimensions shown are those of the decoded image, as displayed.
Guides
Three practical guides to choose a format, handle transparency and set quality without surprises.
PNG or JPG: which format should you choose?
Both formats are everywhere, but they answer different constraints. Here is how to choose with confidence, and what actually changes in a conversion.
Read the guideConverting a transparent PNG to JPG
A transparent PNG converted to JPG needs a colour behind the empty areas. Prepared well, the result stays clean; prepared badly, it lands on black or with dirty edges.

The quality slider is not a percentage of fidelity. Here is what it actually changes, and useful starting values.
